The role of a case investigator is not an easy one. Case investigators must hold a working knowledge of the most up to date information on public health safety during a pandemic, possess stellar communication and interviewing skills, and provide a space for the expression of individuals who are suffering with COVID-19. 

 

Though the importance of case investigations for mitigating the effects of disease outbreaks, like COVID-19, there's a noticeable lack of attention to the experiences of case investigators specifically. We interviewed case investigators of the ASU COVID-19 Case Investigation Team to learn more about their experiences and lessons learned from joining into the pandemic response in Arizona.
